Great news! The Indiana NRC granted preliminary adoption of the terrestrial plant rule. The news release is posted at this link:

A notice of intent will be published and a public comment period will follow. I will send a notification when that comment period begins. As with any proposed rule, it is important the public be engaged and comment. It has taken several years to get this rule to this point so your comments are needed when the comment period opens.

The Commission was concerned about additional delays, so they decided to grant preliminary adoption of the rule without considering inclusion of Callery pear and Norway maple.

Please stay tuned for additional information about the proposed rule as it moves through the rule making process.

If you would like a copy of the rule process and the draft rule please email me at, Dawn.slack@tnc.org
